What I’m Riding . . . Rune Thursday

The question I have selected a Rune for comes from Jessica and it is, How long until I am sucessful at comedy?  Jessica, your Rune is Mannaz, the Rune of The Self.  And here is what it means:

The starting point is the self.  Only clarity and a willingness to change will get you where you need to go.  A correct relationship with yourself is the key to getting what you want.  Remain modest; regardless of your degree of talent, be devoted yet open to diversion.  Do not be closed or judging; remain open to influences coming your way.  Be aware of the past and future, but remain in the now.  This is a time of major growth and success can only come after that growth is complete.  This is not a time to seek accolades; focus on the beauty of the journey simply for the journey’s sake.  Don’t overlook what is right in front of you because you’re staring too hard at the end result.

I don’t like to interpret Runes, but to answer the question succinctly, I would say how quickly you enjoy success at comedy is entirely up to you.  And who’s to say you aren’t successful at it now if it’s what you love to do and it brings you joy.  You measure your own success, and you measure the level of it you want to have.  The good news is, the Rune selected indeed signifies that success is in your reach.  Now grab it!
